The HVC is committing the first $25k to the Chet Stone Fund. The Chester "Chet" E. Stone III Fund was created in October 2024 and will provide a source of ongoing funding specifically to be used for the employment of Harvard students at events run by either the Harvard Varsity Club and/or the multitude of Friends of Harvard sports teams ("Friends") organizations.

This fund is initiated in honor of longtime Harvard equipment room manager and Harvard legend, Chester E. Stone III. Chet both employed and provided valuable life lessons to thousands of Harvard students and coaches during his 30-year career. His impact across the university was so wide-reaching that Harvard presented Chet with its highest honor, "The Harvard Medal for Extraordinary Service to the University", in 2006.
