Item Description
True MV Childhood | This bass represents all of the places my father, Jesse Oliver III, would go to take me fishing or just as a father daughter date. As a born and raised islander and a family who trails back generations, each of these spots have such significant meaning to how I grew up here. Between late days on Katama, fishing on the bend and helping my father catch/release to dinner or lunch dates in Vineyard Haven by the flagpole in East Chop. My grandfather was in the hall of fame for the Derby, and as I unfortunately did not get the chance to meet him, I hear stories from other islanders on how his fishing techniques were 'one of a kind'. I truly wanted to incorporate important locations and what it truly means to be raised by a generational fisherman.
