Roberta Towle studied at the R. H. Ives Gammell studio in Boston at the Guild of Boston Artists a five year studio art program. Roberta also attended Vesper George School and earned a commercial art degree. She enjoys painting from observation such as landscape, portrait and still-life.
"Winter in New England" was painted on location in Lexington, MA. The winters in New England can be such an inspiration. However, the temperatures are freezing and even the artist's coffee froze! Towle would say that the beauty of a crystal clear winter day is worth the effort. The four seasons of New England are always an inspiration. As one artist said, "Look at the world each day as if you never saw it before."
