Item Description

Wood

0.75" x 22" x 10"

Andrew Schwartz has had a lifelong interest in wood and is the artist and owner of The Wooden Board. Just before an accident and developing severe Rheumatoid Arthritis Schwartz partitioned an area in his basement as a wood shop, bought used equipment, and started to create without taking any lessons. Little did he realize that this would become his therapy, passion, and next chapter in life. He lets the wood inspire him and speak for itself.

Each piece has its voice and is completely unique. This board is quarter-sawn oak, which means it is a cross-section cut from the tree horizontally. The almost mica-like figuring is common only to oak. Oak is an American Standard for solid one-piece boards. Consider using one side for cutting and one side for serving. Oil with NON food grade oil (such as Walrus Cutting Board Oil) to keep it conditioned and it can last several lifetimes.
