Item Description
About the beautiful "Light of Lawai" photograph:
As the people of Hawaii opened their hearts, the universe revealed its wonders. This was a miraculous moment: light and hearts as one, captured on film as 250 people in gratitude and peace walked along a hillside in a valley named Lawai. Through the centuries, in this Lawai valley on Kauai, Hawaii's northernmost island, first the Hawaiians, and then the Asians, built their sanctuaries of healing and hope.
On June 11, 2006, during the Pilgrimage for Compassion at the 88 shrines of Lawai at 3:49 pm on the beginning and end of the walk's pathway, two beams of light poured from above. Cynthia Riedel of Kilauea, Kauai, captured this universal opening with her Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera and shares it with you unaltered.
This giclee measures 20" x 36."
The Pilgrimage of Compassion at Lawai International Center has been held every year since September 11, 2001 - 2019.
