Item Description
Rhubarb plant from the kitchen garden at Thoreau's birthplace.
Rhubarb was a major crop for the progressive farm town of Concord, MA. Despite construction at the Thoreau birthplace site, rhubarb plants have survived and we've replanted them in the kitchen garden.
Perennial. Enormous leaves, prolific producer of stems. Rhubarb is traditionally ready for picking the first week of May and harvest lasts until the plant goes to seed (usually in early July).
Item Special Note
Plant will be prepared as a bare root plant ready for planting. Winning bidder responsible for pick-up from Thoreau Farm.
