This high-quality archival pigment print of the original acrylic painting by the artist is unframed/unmatted. The print will be signed and numbered out of an open edition.
This is a print of a painting by DeFelice commissioned by artist Ilithios as cover art for his album release "Every Bird Ever" (2024). Inspired by hagiography Greek and Byzantine art and frescoes made for religious depictions as well as folk art and mandala of spiritual symbolism. Each bird in the wreath has its own history and meaning.
Artist's Statement: Andréa DeFelice is an artist living and working between New York City and artist residencies. Her work uses various media, usually putting objects, images, and sound into motion, creating illusions and blending analog with digital. Works are conceptual and aim to turn the notion of observation inside out. Also to reconsider what we think we know. DeFelice lives with a parrot and advocates birds and NYC wildlife in her free time. Her prints, paintings and sculptures are in private collections in the both the U.S. and abroad. She works out of her studio in Manhattan and is a Professor of Media Studies and Art & Technology at Pratt Institute and Queens College.
