Item Description
Live plants from Bruce Nurseries.
Foamflower is one of the showiest spring wildflowers, native to the woodlands and forests of the eastern United States. A beautiful addition to the shade garden, the starry white flower spikes are often accented with a tinge of pink. Evergreen in the southern parts of its range, the handsome lobed foliage stays attractive all summer and turns hues of red and bronze in the fall. The dense foliage hugs the ground and flower spikes rarely exceed one foot. Foamflower is not aggressive but it will form a nice groundcover in time.
Tiarella cordifolia requires a rich soil that is well-drained, with consistent moisture. Lite shade or dappled light is best. It looks great massed along a border, and also combines well with other shade-loving plants. Plants can be divided in early fall.
